After gaining my Psychology degree, I spent 7 years working with children with Autism. I spent 6 months as a classroom support worker and then 6.5 years Assistant Clinical Psychologist. I also have experience of factory production line planning and general office skills. I was initially a Parent Champion appointed by West Berks which required meeting with parents, governors, the school SLT and LA representatives before becoming a Governor for Compton Primary during which time I sat on the curriculum committee. Since federation, I am now Safeguarding governor, link governor for 2 faculties and lead on the Teaching and Learning strategic group. I have trained in safeguarding, safer recruitment, domestic violence, safeguarding against radicalisation and understanding data. I am an active, vocal and visible governor, whilst championing our schools. I believe very much in contributing constructively to the continued focus of developing our schools to ensure a positive and successful experience for all of our students. Currently I am developing a small business project that will fit in around the family and other commitments.
