Curriculum Overviews

We use the Cornerstones primary curriculum over a 2 year rolling cycle.  Our children enjoy exciting topics which allow them to make links between different areas of their learning.   Our curriculum is skills based and encourages our children to be curious and learn in different ways.

Some of our favourite topics include Enhanted Woodland, Fallen Fields, Burps, Bottoms and Bile, Rocks, Relics and Rumbles and Dinosaur Planet.

Curriculum Information for Parents and Carers:

This term our topics are:

Hedgehog Class: School days

Fox Class: Gods and Mortals

Squirrel Class: Sow, Grow and Farm

Home learning ideas and Parent/Carer information sheets are uploaded to our class pages on Dojo.

PSHE and RSE (Personal, Social and Health Education & Relationships and Sex Education)

Following the return to school after the Coronovirus lockdown in March 2021, our school has invested in a new scheme of work called SCARF to help our children with their recovery curriculum.  PSHE is taught every Monday morning and allows children time to talk about their feelings and to build their skills.  The RSE element of our curriculum is taught in the "Growing and Changing" unit of work.  Parents and carers have the opportunity to consult with the school about our RSE policy and have the opportunity to view resources before the unit is taught.
