Christian & British Values
As a Church of England primary school we are committed to our strong Christian ethos. We are proud of our connection to our local church, St Nicholas’, and of the close links we have built with our local community. We follow the cycle of major Christian festivals and these are celebrated within school and at church, led by Reverend Toogood and Reverend Dale. Parents are very welcome to join us in these acts of worship at school and in church. Reverend Toogood and Reverend Dale attend school weekly to lead worship for the children. Parents, carers and friends are invited to join us for community worship and lunch on the last Tuesday of the month. As a small, rural school, our community links are something we hold dear. Parishioners often join us for community lunch and we support the village fete, working together with the village hall and church committees. Every November, Reverend Mary Harwood leads a British Legion service of remembrance in our school hall where our children join together with veterans from the parish. Children then attend the Sunday remembrance at St Nicholas’ church where they lay a wreath.
Beedon aims to develop its religious character taking into account the principles of the church of England and promotes Christian values through the experience we offer to all our pupils. Six key Christian values are learnt about in detail every year. These provide the basis for assemblies, collective worship and the day to day running of the school.
For September 2020, to help our post Covid recovery, we have chosen to begin our school year by focusing on the value of FRIENDSHIP.

At Beedon CE Primary School, we uphold and teach pupils about the British Values. Democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths are taught explicitly through PSHE, Citizenship and RE. We deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.
