Pupil Leadership
"Pupils eagerly take up positions of responsibility. They help tidy the school hall after lunch and some apply to be head girl or head boy." Ofsted December 2021
Pupil leadership in our school is underpinned by our school vision to be 'strong in spirit, full of wisdom' Luke 2:40.
We have 5 key leadership roles in our school which are:
Pankhurst House Captain, Hawking House Captain, Mandela House Captain, Nightingale House Captain and Chair of School Council. We promote a democracy within our pupil leadership roles where all children are able to contribute their ideas and have their voice heard which enables our learners to be 'strong in spirit'. Throughout the year, our pupils will participate in sports events led by their house captains both in house and across the federation which will also enable them to be 'full of wisdom' as they will learn ad develop new skills from the sports coaches and other pupils across our collaborative federation.
Courageous Advocacies
As a school, we have two courageous advocacies - The Environment and Mental Health. Our Chair of School Council has been working with our Forest School Leader to deliver assemblies and advocate for The Environment.
Woodland Trust
At Beedon School we have selected The Woodland Trust as our chosen charity. Here at Beedon the pupils are working with The Woodland Trust to plant trees in our school’s Forest School Area, improve our schools recycling system and visit the local woods to learn more about woodlands in our area. The pupils enjoy creating art work and poetry inspired by the local woodlands and the nature in our school grounds. Our pupils are passionate about protecting the environment and finding ways that they can contribute to the improving our school grounds as a habitat for the local wildlife.
